Brief & vision
Residency Road is a well-known road located in Bangalore, the capital city of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is a prominent commercial and residential area and is considered one of the prime locations in the city.
Andy Fisher workshop was tasked to design both architectural and interior for a Grade A Office Tower with retail showroom on the ground level on a sloping site.
The brief for this new office building was to have an iconic design, given the prominence of its location and address.
Conceptual approach
The frit pattern on the façade is intended to impose a gradient effect, making the showroom on the ground floor clear with the same pattern heavily dense to also act as a sun shade due to its orientation.
Factors such as speed to construct, use of pre-fabrication were taken into consideration on this tight and narrow site.
